Succinctly written, with illustrations, you'll want to have at least a grasp of all verb tenses to easily enjoy reading these books. Since many of the women are historical figures, the stories really help you perfect your reading in the past tenses. A worthwhile read for any age student.

We can't say enough great things about how reading short stories has helped us improve our language skills. They are the perfect size, providing a manageable amount of new vocabulary and a huge sense of accomplishment. Try having a quick conversation with your friends about the story to retain the new vocabulary, and improve your speaking and listening skills.
